What is Calcium Hydroxyapatite
The mineral calcium hydroxyapatite is a mineral is part of bone and dental tissue. It has been used in orthopaedics and dentistry for more than 20 years as a bone substitute. It is bioactive and has been approved by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) for use in aesthetic fillings.
What's different about Calcium Hydroxyapatite filling
The uniqueness of the Radiesse filler lies in the linking of the filling of wrinkles and irregularities in the face together by activating collagen production. The gel creates a network at the application site, between which new collagen fibres grow, which work as a biological reinforcement. The effect is visible immediately after the procedure, with collagen formation beginning 4 weeks after treatment and continuing for the next 12 months. The multiplied collagen improves the firmness and elasticity of the skin.
How the procedure works
The application site can be numbed before treatment. The Radiesse filler is then applied to the middle layer of the skin. Immediately after the procedure, the treated area may be red, swollen and slightly sensitive; rarely, bruising may occur. One treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. The effect will be visible immediately after treatment.

What is the difference between fillers with Hyaluronic Acid and fillers with Calcium Hydroxyapatite - Radiesse
