What is AestheFill

AestheFill is a biostimulating filler containing polylactic acid that has been used in medicine for more than 20 years as an absorbable suture material. It is obtained from corn starch by polymerisation. The material is biocompatible (compatible with its own tissue) and degradable. It gradually breaks down into lactic acid and glycogen and is eliminated from the body. FDA approval confirms its proven safety.

How Aesthefill works

After application, the material actively fills the areas with loss of its own collagen. The porous structure of the filler microspheres is subsequently filled with collagen germ cells - fibroblasts.  The uniqueness lies in the fact that after the material breaks down, the places where it was placed remain filled with new collagen and elastin. The skin thickens, gains elasticity and healthy skin is restored.

Who is the ideal candidate for AestheFill?

Aesthefill is suitable for:

• lipodystrophy of the face, neck, décolleté and hands, which leads to loss of volume, sagging skin and loss of elasticity
• undulating, loose facial contours
• sunken areas of the face - cheeks, temples
• deep wrinkles in the corners of the mouth and nasolabial folds
• atrophic acne scars
• change in facial shapes and contours (asymmetry, loss of volume)

How does the treatment work?

The filler is injected directly into the areas of the largest depressions or fan-shaped cannulas (fan technique), below the skin surface, if the skin is generally flaccid, dehydrated and atonic. The treatment ends with a light massage to evenly fill the inner layers of the dermis.

When will I see the results after application

The volumetric results of the treatment are noticeable immediately after the treatment. A more pronounced effect occurs in 1.5 to 3 months after the formation of the collagen skeleton. The skin thickens, wrinkles are softened and the facial oval is firmed.

In aftercare, the following is recommended: do not touch or apply pressure to the treated areas. Avoid strenuous physical activity and excessive heat for several days after treatment. Protect the treated area from direct sunlight and use SPF products.

How often is the treatment repeated?

The frequency of treatment may vary depending on the quality of the skin and the desired effect, i.e. until the gradual breakdown of the skin's own collagen and elastin begins. At that point, the procedure can be repeated.

Application can be in a series of 3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart in case of significant skin atrophy. The general recommendation includes 1-2 treatments with a break of 4-6 months between sessions, with the possibility of repeat treatments every 2-3 years.
